S is for Superstition

Every once in a while a Friday the 13th will occur during the school year and this recently happened on Friday, November 13.  My students enjoyed an obstacle course all about superstitions.  We talked about different superstitions and learned that some are good and some are not but all, of course, are not true.  I set up 16 different stations and students had fun doing as many as possible during their PE time. They avoided black cats and going under ladders, held their breath as they passed a cemetery, and threw salt (yarnballs) over their shoulder into a basket behind them, just to name a few.  Needless to say, the day was fun and very active!
