A Visit to Seattle, Washington

Our imaginary trip to Seattle allowed students to learn a little bit about the Space Needle, Pike Place Fish Market, and the original Starbucks.  They watched a fun video of workers throwing fish at the market and then played a tag game called "Throw Me a Fish." There were also two warm-up activities: a coffee grinder exercise for Starbucks and a follow the leader game called "Thread the Needle." Students really enjoyed the tag game and laughed when catching the rubber fish.

A tagged player is unfrozen by catching a fish.

The coffee grinder exercise has students placing weight
on one hand and using their straight legs to turn in a circle.

"Thread the Needle" has children following a leader, without
disconnecting their thread, as he/she moves under the thread.
