Halloween Activities

You may have noticed that students in Early Childhood Physical Education have recently taken a break from their landmark theme.  This is because of two reasons - Halloween activities and preparation for our upcoming Thanksgiving/Grandparent's Day program on Friday, November 17.

Our immediate attention recently turned to the fun Halloween games that accompany the Fall season.  There were running tag games like Spiders and Flies and Chickamy, Chickamy Cranny Crow, an activity called Mummy Bowling where students worked on stepping in opposition while sliding a beanbag to knock down a mummy pin, the Frightful Frisbee Throw that had students working on Frisbee toss for accuracy, a Halloween Match Game relay, and a fun soccer dribbling game called Poison Spider Tag that had students dribbling with alternating feet using fun equipment called spider balls.  There was also a really cool activity called The Skeleton Square Dance that helped students learn some different bones in the body.  We even looked at a real skeleton when discussing the bones.

Please know that not every class got to do every activity.  Participation was dependent upon the day and time that a class came to PE.  Students enjoyed all the games that they were involved with.

Happy Halloween!
