The Grandparent's Day Program

If you were able to attend the recent Grandparent's Day/Thanksgiving program, I'm sure you were as happy with the students as I was.  What a wonderful musical performance from Mr. Elmore's students.  The children sounded great and were so attentive to what they were doing.  They really wanted to make grandparents, parents, teachers, and Mr. Elmore proud.

The physical education portion of the program was beautiful.  The patriotic theme for the prekindergarten and kindergarten students was amazing and I had many audience members who told me how appreciative they were of the tribute to our military personnel, both veterans and active duty.  I was very proud to present this program and was thrilled with the performance of the students.  The kindergarten sparkle wand routine to This is My Country/This Land is Your Land was colorful and fun. The prekindergarten military anthem medley with military flags was so fun to watch and the salute at the end by all of the students was quite emotional.  The finale was the kindergarten parachute routine to I Guard America, which is a tribute to the National Guard.  Such a beautiful song and a fine performance by the students.

The preschool program was lovely.  Robin Macy, steward of the Belle Plaine Arboretum, came to speak about her song, "The Power of One," which the students used for a wonderful parachute routine.  Robin talked about the inspiration for her song, which was 1999 Collegiate graduate, Meagan Hawley, who now does missionary work in Zambia.  It was nice to have some of her family at the program to see the routine.  Our students were very respectful of our guest speaker and did an outstanding job with the parachute.

Overall, the day was fabulous and I hope that everyone enjoyed the event.  Our students worked hard in both music and PE and they did a fantastic job.  My thanks to parent, John Pair, for sharing his photos with us.  I have included a link below to some of his photos.
