Kindergarten Dances at the Grand Ole Opry

In between moments of practicing for our upcoming Thanksgiving/Grandparent"s Day program on November 17, kindergarten students have been working on a circle dance for our study of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.  Today they had the opportunity to do their dance with live musicians who came to the gym.  Art Mould, husband of our Early Childhood librarian, and my husband, Carl, came and played their guitars while the students listened to the music and danced.  The music was great and the students did a nice job on their dance to "Grandma's Feather Bed."  Carl also brought his sinker redwood guitar and talked about it.  This is something students learned about last year when we studied the Redwood Forest during our Natural Wonders of the World study.  It was a fun afternoon.

Students listen to the song "Country Roads."
