Faculty Participates in First Aid Training

Did you know that the early childhood faculty and staff maintain certification in both First Aid and CPR?  They work on skills to assist with problems like bleeding, fracture, choking, bee sting, asthma, cold and heat related concerns, and heart attack.  They even learn how to administer an epi pen to a child in an emergency situation and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in case of cardiac arrest.  It is a good feeling to know that the people around us are trained to handle immediate medical emergencies and an even more comfortable feeling to realize that the fire department and EMS are located just down the street from our school.

Our early childhood participants had a good time attending the recent first aid training and often shared a laugh or two.

Learning to clear a foreign body airway obstruction.

Bandaging, splinting, and putting on a sling, using available materials.
