When talking about Olympic riflery events, students learned that the first gold medal of the 2016 Olympics was won in air rifle by a 19 year old female student from the United States. We watched a video of air rifle and then used a nerf gun to try and hit a target. Although air rifle is done from a standing position, we also talked about how some events are done in a prone position, so students tried both ways. It was not an easy event but students were excited when they hit the target.
