Climbing Mount Everest

This week in Physical Education we will finish up our last two Natural Wonders, which are both mountains.  So far we have visited Mount Everest, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. This mountain, located in the Himalayan Mountains on the border of Tibet and Nepal, is one of the greatest climbing challenges in the world, with a height of over 29,000 feet.

In physical education we used an inflatable climbing wall and slide as our Mount Everest.  It was set up in the gym and teachers helped supervise the children as they climbed from both sides of the inflatable.  We did this because Mount Everest is accessible from both the Tibet and Nepal sides. The children were so excited when they walked into the gym and saw this activity.  They had a blast!
