Kindergarten Outdoor Water Games for "Operation Cooperation" Field Day

Earlier in the week I promised Kindergarten students that they would get the opportunity to try some of the water games that they were supposed to do at their "Operation Cooperation" field day that had to move inside due to inclement weather.  Friday was gorgeous weather so we went outside and tried out three of the four games.  The first game was "The Foot Doctor."  Students had to remove one shoe and sock and put their foot in the water and use their toes to pick up marbles.  The second game was "The Sponge Relay."  Teams placed a sponge in water and then ran down to squeeze the water into a container.  When the cup overflowed, the game was over.  The last game was a "Stop the Bleeding" cooperative activity.  Students had to use a cup to fill a bucket with water.  The challenge was, however, that the bucket had holes in it.  Students had to use their fingers to plug the holes so the water would raise to a designated level.  All games were silly and fun!

Today (Monday) we finished up with the "Surgical Glove Water Balloon Toss."  We learned that surgical gloves filled with water are very difficult to pop, but that made it all the more fun.  There was lots of practice throwing underhand and catching, but when a glove fell to the ground, it usually just rolled and rolled.  It was hysterical.  Students were so grateful that they finally got to complete all of the "Operation Cooperation" field day events.
