I love looking at the night sky. It seems so endless and mysterious. Here's a unique family activity... view the pink supermoon this evening, April 7, continuing into the early morning of April 8. Although children will probably be in bed when the moon is at its brightest, you can still take a look at the moon as it travels in its elliptical orbit. It will be closer to earth tonight than at any other time this year. So, before you tuck the children in to bed, check outside in the night sky to see how big and bright the moon looks. Keep your fingers crossed for no cloud cover.
FUN FACT: It's funny that the "Pink" part of the Supermoon's name has nothing to do with the color of the moon. It has to do with the color of a popular flower that blooms in the Spring...the pink phlox. Do you have any in your garden?
