In China our activities were spread out between different age groups. Kindergarten students did Chinese Jump Rope. This activity had a person jumping over, between, and on an elastic band stretched around the ankles of two people. The band is supposed to rise higher as the skills are mastered. Pre-K students played a Chinese game called “Tossing the Square,” which had them working on throwing a beanbag into a square using the dominant hand and stepping with the opposite foot. Points were accumulated as they did this. Preschool children played “Dragon Tag.” Students formed a long line and the head of the dragon tried to catch the tail. We will return to China in February to participate in a Chinese New Year parade.
