Wichita State University Students Visit PE Classes

Physical Education Majors from Wichita State University came to some of our physical education classes to work with Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten students. We started with an instant activity called "Walkie Talkie" where students walk and talk with each other. Our children introduced themselves to their new college friends and talked about their families. This was followed by a warm-up called "Bridges and Tunnels." Students made either a bridge or tunnel with their body and other students had to go over or under them as they walked around the gym to music. Each time a person was passed under or over, that student had to flip to the other position. Students later traded places. Our final activity was scatter square dancing in preparation for Pioneer Day. The university students had never done this before so our students helped them learn.  Thank you to our new friends for joining us.  It was a fun morning!
