National Walking Day

Wednesday, February 6, was National Walking Day.  The American Heart Association recommended that everyone "Lace Up" and join in for 30 minutes of walking on this day. Many Early Childhood students, teachers, and staff participated in this activity during PE and recess time.  A course was marked off in the quadrangle and students walked the path.  Each time they completed a lap they put a popsicle stick in a box.  At the end of the day we counted up all the sticks to see how many miles they had walked.  All together they walked 146 miles. Students enjoyed this activity and understood that walking is a wonderful lifetime activity that benefits good health.
