National Homemade Cookie Day

Today, October 1, 2018, is National Homemade Cookie Day.  Kindergarten students played a game in Physical Education called "Grab the Cookie from the Cookie Jar."  Students were divided into four teams and on the word "GO," one person at a time ran to Mrs. Wagner's cookie jar (hoop) in the center of the playing area and took one cookie.  This continued until all cookies were gone.  Since three cookies were needed to win the game, students then had to run, one at a time, to another team's cookie jar and take a cookie from them.  At the same time, other teams might have been taking cookies from their jar.  The first team to accumulate 3 cookies in their hoop yelled out "Stop" and they were the winners.  This game kept students running and thinking about strategy, since accumulating three beanbags was challenging.

The first person on each team runs to the center cookie jar to get a beanbag.

Players reach down to grab a beanbag from Mrs. Wagner's cookie jar.

A beanbag is dropped off in this team's cookie jar and the next person with the scarf starts running.

 This game kept players running.

This team celebrates after accumulating 3 cookies in their cookie jar.
