What fun students had learning about the skeletal system. We were so fortunate to have a skeleton donated to the Physical Education department so we used it throughout our study. Students learned the function of the skeleton and played games that helped them learn the names of some of the major bones. They even did some dances like the skeleton square dance and hokey pokey that emphasized the name of the bones. I also read a book entitled "Dem Bones" followed by a skeleton dance on YouTube that went along with the book. Our study of the skeleton coincided with Halloween so it was the perfect time to learn about the various bones.
