On occasion, I get an opportunity to attend athletic events of which my students are a part. It is great fun to watch them playing hard and putting their skills into practice. Students often benefit from participation in outside athletics, as they learn concepts like teamwork, perseverance, responsibility, dedication, and sportsmanship. I enjoy seeing students work together and fight hard to score, but also appreciate those players who assist others who are more open for a scoring opportunity. This unselfishness is a tremendous attribute in athletics. I truly enjoy watching my students participate in all sports and wish them the best. Remember to play hard, play fair, and play safe but, most of all, play for FUN!
