Mrs. Reeder's preschool class chose the overall Iditarod winner.
Mrs. Gray's prekindergarten class chose the first female finisher.
Over Spring Break the annual Alaskan Iditarod Dog Sled Race concluded in Nome, Alaska. As you may recall, each class picked a male and female musher to track throughout the race. This year, Mrs. Reeder's preschool class chose Dallas Seavey as the winner and he finished the 979 mile race in first place with a time of 8 days, 18 hours, 13 minutes, and 6 seconds. He crossed the finish line with 10 dogs pulling his sled. Mrs. Gray's prekindergarten class chose Jessie Royer, who was the first female to finish the race. She placed fourth with a time of 9 days, 1 hour, 51 minutes, and 9 seconds, with 12 dogs. Each of these classes received a popsicle party for their winning predictions. Congratulations! It was fun to see all my classes take such an interest in this year's Iditarod race.
