Since the weather was nice, I decided to hold some events outside today. Students met in the gymnasium to watch short videos of the Olympic 110 meter men's hurdles and the 4x100 meter men's relay. Both of these events were won by the Jamaican's but the students enjoyed watching the runners. Class then moved outside where we tried out some mini hurdles. We talked about the starting position, how the hurdles are set up, and how the runners jump over them. We then tried a relay situation around a section of the quadrangle. Students learned about the number of people in a relay and how each runner passes the baton to the next runner. It was fun.
