With this being a partial week of classes
before school is out, we are concentrating on fun holiday games in Physical
Education. We played “Run, Run, Reindeer” and acted out a
holiday bear song called “Grizzly Bear.”
Both games involved lots of running. The reindeer game had children jogging
from rooftop to rooftop (mats) while music played. When the music stopped they had to be on a
rooftop. If they were not on a mat three
times then they had to visit the reindeer hospital and perform an exercise to
return to the game. The bear game
involved some children acting as hibernating bears in a cave. Other children had to sneak up on the bears
and try not to “shake them” or “wake them.”
When the bears woke up, they chased the children back to their home
base. There were lots of fun giggles and
screams during this game.
Our student helper from Friends University reads the book "The Reindeer Christmas."
Blowing the magic dust to let the reindeer fly. Music was our magic dust.
Students jogged across mats used as rooftops. Children were the reindeer.
This person had to do arm circles at the reindeer hospital.
This student performs jumping jacks to get back in the game.
Marching in place will get this student back in the game.
Touching toes is required to return to jogging on the rooftops.
A group of reindeer visit the reindeer hospital together. They are performing washing machines.
Mountain climbers are done to mend this reindeer who is visiting the reindeer hospital.
The perfect shirt for our reindeer game.
One of my favorite Christmas stories, "Bear Stays Up for Christmas",
is read to the preschool children.
The hibernating bears are resting in their cave.
The visitors slowly sneak up to be close to the bears.
Please be very quiet, very, very quiet.
If you shake them, if you wake them, they get very MAD!!!!
RUN! The bears chase the visitors back to their home base.
