Talking about the country of Ghana on the continent of Africa

Preschool and Prekindergarten students had the chance to learn about Ghana this week in PE.  It was our first chance to talk about the continent of Africa.  With such a variety of animals and reptiles in Ghana, we played a game from there called "Big Snake."  One person started off as the snake and attempted to tag classmates.  Each time a person was tagged, he/she hooked on to the snake, with the tail of the snake also able to tag classmates.  It was quite fun to watch children working together to keep the snake in one piece as they held hands and ran together to chase friends.

The snake waits inside the cones which represent a hole
in the ground. Soon he will be chasing and tagging others.

The snake chases after classmates and tries to tag them.

A tagged person adds on to the snake and
becomes the tail, who also tags classmates.

The snake becomes longer as more people are tagged.
