Touchdown!

For the last two days before the Super Bowl, we are playing a game in Physical Education called "Touchdown."  The group is divided into offensive and defensive teams.  The defensive team's job is to tag offensive players.  One of the offensive players carries a squeezable mini football that he/she attempts to hide while running.  The rest of the team tries to disguise their hands to look as if they might be carrying the football.  The offensive team members try to run from one end of the gym to the other without getting tagged by the defense.  If they make it across the gym successfully, the team scores.  If tagged, there is no score.  We change offense and defense on every play so each team has the opportunity to try and score.  The students are having fun.

Remember - Tomorrow is RED OUT day.  Wear red to support the Kansas City Chiefs football team in their quest to win their second Super Bowl.  GO CHIEFS!!

This class learns the touchdown sign.

The offensive team cups their hands together so the defensive team
will not know who has the ball when they are running.  They are
trying to make it to the opposite team's goal line without being tagged.

The offense runs to the opposite side of the gym as
the defensive team pursues with the foam noodles.
They are not sure which player has the football.

Touchdown!  This student has successfully made it to the opposite
side of the gym without being tagged by the defensive team.
