Following spring break, students left Mexico and boarded their imaginary cruise ship for a trip up the west coast of Mexico and in to the United States. Here they visited San Diego, California. They learned about Sea World and played activities that related to both the aquariums and the rides at this main attraction. We used special music for the Shipwreck Rapids and Manta Roller Coaster rides. Students got to act out the lyrics to the music while pretending to be on the rides. They also learned about the array of marine life that inhabit Sea World and played some games related to this. Kindergarten students worked on striking skills while learning about Petco Park, the home of the San Diego Padres baseball team. They played a fun batting game called "Beat the Batter."
