So many children love taking a bubble bath that it seemed
appropriate to celebrate this day. A tub
made from small cones was made on the gym floor. Inside the tub, different size balls were used
for the bubbles. Rubber ducks also
floated in the tub. The song “Splish
Splash” was played and children moved around the tub in various locomotor
ways. When “jump in the tub” was yelled
out, students moved inside the tub to perform a skill with the bubbles (balls)
or rubber ducks. Students worked on
throwing, catching, bouncing, and passing equipment around the waist and knees. They also did some activities that did not use
the ball or duck, like pretend to wash your face, hands, arms, feet, etc. This kept students very active but they enjoyed it.
