Get your tennis shoes ready for Read and Romp Day. Next Monday,
March 4, early childhood students will participate in this fun tradition at
Wichita Collegiate School. Students will rotate to 10 different stations where volunteers will read a short
book and lead children in an activity.
It’s such a fun event.
Individuals who volunteered to help with this special day should have
already received information via email regarding job assignments. Please check it out. If you did not receive an email or have any
questions, please contact Early Childhood Physical Education teacher, Kathy
Wagner, at kathywagner@wcsks.com. All early childhood students and volunteers
are reminded to wear their tennis shoes on Monday. It's going to be a busy day.
On Tuesday
and Wednesday, March 5-6, Early Childhood students will dress up in aprons and
bandannas to participate in our very own pancake race. This is an annual event coinciding with the
international pancake race that takes place each year between Liberal, Kansas, and
Olney, England, on Shrove Tuesday.
Aprons, frying pans, and real pancakes will be provided, but each child
is asked to bring a bandanna to wear during the race. Thank you for your help with this request.
