National Poultry Day - March 19, 2019

Students learned a new word in Physical Education again today.  They learned the word "poultry" and discovered that it has to do with chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, and guinea fowl, that are raised for their meat and eggs to use in feeding individuals.  Although not everyone eats or enjoys these foods, they are consumed by a large number of the population.

In PE students did a variety of activities to recognize this day.  They played a game where they constantly tossed and caught rubber chickens as they moved around the room, had a spoon and egg race, and danced to a song called "Two Webbed Feet."  Not every class did every activity, but all enjoyed the games they played.

This student shows off his rubber chicken.

This person with the chicken finds a person who does not have one and throws it to her.

Students line up for the egg and spoon race.

This student walks carefully with her egg and spoon.

This class waddles as they dance to the song "Two Webbed Feet."
