Friday, March 29, was the annual WCS Young Authors Conference. This event involves students in kindergarten through fourth grade. This year's guest author was Sandra Markle, a wonderfully entertaining author who writes many books involving science subjects. The children were enthralled by her presentation as she demonstrated many experiments and explained the reason for the results. The children did a wonderful job asking questions of the author.
In the afternoon, students rotated to various stations that coordinated with many of Sandra Markle's books. They even got to visit the gymnasium to play an animal version of Capture the Flag. Students also had the opportunity to enjoy a snack and purchase a book to be autographed by the author. It was a great day!
