Light-Up Pumpkin Bowling

Today I felt like the children needed a break from working on their routines for the upcoming Thanksgiving/Grandparent's Day program.  We took advantage of the Halloween spirit to do some pumpkin bowling.  I have fun bowling pins that look like mummies and squishy pumpkins that light up when rolled or thrown.  Students worked on stepping in opposition and aiming towards the pin. Adjustments in distance to the pin were made for each age level.  It was fun to watch the excitement of the children when they knocked down the pin.  After a while we turned off the lights in the gym to add to the spooky atmosphere and make it more fun.  The children enjoyed this activity.

(NOTE - Many of the photos have been lightened in order to see the faces of the children.)

Pumpkin bowling was fun with a mummy bowling pin and a light-up pumpkin.

Turning off the lights made it fun to watch the pumpkin glow as it rolled.

Working hard to get that mummy pin.

Bending at the waist helps this student as she steps in opposition.

It's a strike.  Way to go!

Students had a great time working on bowling skills.

This preschool student steps in opposition to help the pumpkin on its way to the mummy pin.

This student has fun making the green pumpkin light up.
