Mother Goose Parade and Enchanted Library

What an exciting time it was for our early childhood students as they came to school today to participate in our annual Halloween Mother Goose Parade, led by our own early childhood librarian, Mrs. Mould.  Despite the inconvenience of uncooperative weather, students enjoyed parading through the halls and in the gymnasium.  I'm always impressed with the creativity of the children's costumes.  Everyone looked adorable and even the teachers and staff dressed up.  What fun!

The parade was followed by a trip over to the Middle School to visit the enchanted library where lights were dimmed and fun little alcoves were filled with volunteers reading and acting out nursery rhymes and short fairy tales.  The children enjoyed it so much and I think the adults did too.  Thank you to the library staff for their hard work in preparing this special event for our students, and to the many volunteers it took to make it successful.

Our Early Childhood Librarian led the parade as Mother Goose.

The administrative assistant and head of Early Childhood dress as Jack and Jill.

I dressed as one of the Three Little Kittens who lost their mittens.

Here's the cow that jumped over the moon from Hey Diddle Diddle.

Hickory Dickory Dock is represented in the Mother Goose parade.

Little Bo Peep and Humpty Dumpty smile for the camera.

Little Red Riding Hood carries a basket to grandma's house.

Every Mother Goose parade must have a Queen of Hearts.

This student represents the rhyme Rain, Rain, Go Away, Come Again Another Day.

The Three Blind Mice join in the parade.

Classmates dress alike as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Another Mother Goose shares a story with the children before they enter the Enchanted Library.

Little Miss Muffet and the spider share their nursery rhyme in the Enchanted Library

Old Mother Hubbard stands next to her empty cupboard holding her dog.

This fine lady has rings on her fingers and bells on her toes.  She shall have music wherever she goes.
